Level 3 Sex Offender Accused Of Assaulting MIT Student In Boston's Back Bay

Boston Police arrested a registered sex offender in connection with the alleged sexual assault of a Boston college student in Back Bay that happened this month.

Nahom Getaneh was charged with assault to rape and indecent assault and battery and ordered held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing on May 1, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office.

Getaneh, age 33, allegedly assaulted an MIT student in the area of Beacon Street and Public Alley 908 on Saturday, April 22, Boston25 reports.

According to the state's Sex Offender Registry Board, Getaneh was convicted of indecent assault and battery on a person aged 14 or older in November 2007.
